About the store
I have 10+ years of teaching experience in special education across a variety of settings. I currently teach 7th and 8th grade resource classes, providing inclusion support in both ELA and math. Previously, I taught in self-contained classrooms and residential school settings, working with students who required significant academic, behavioral, and functional support. These experiences shaped how I design instruction — with an emphasis on clarity, structure, flexibility, and real classroom usability. Because of my background, the resources in this store are created to work well in: * Special education resource and inclusion settings * Intervention groups * General education classrooms needing differentiation * Independent practice and review Everything is designed with real students in mind — not ideal ones.

Experience

Teaching style

I teach special education, which means flexibility isn’t optional — it’s the job. I adapt curriculum to fit real kids, not ideal ones, and I build lessons that can shift when students need more support, more challenge, or just a different approach. I believe learning should be purposeful, engaging, and sometimes a little fun. When it makes sense, I give students voice and choice, connect skills to the real world, and use activities that feel less like “another worksheet” and more like something worth doing. Most importantly, I work to help students see that: * Learning isn’t the enemy * Mistakes are part of the process * They are capable of more than they think You’ll notice that many of my resources reflect this philosophy — clear directions, manageable chunks, built-in engagement, and yes… occasionally a touch of appropriate classroom snark to keep things human.

Additional biographical information

Outside the classroom, I’m a parent, an avid reader with a creative soul, and someone who genuinely enjoys creative problem-solving. I like learning to feel purposeful, approachable, and occasionally a little funny — because students (and teachers) don’t need one more joyless worksheet. I bring a warm, practical approach to both teaching and resource creation, often with a touch of light snark to keep things human and relatable. If you appreciate materials that are clear, thoughtful, and designed by someone who understands real classrooms (and real days), you’re in the right place.
