This poetry gallery walk template is great for upper elementary, middle, or high school students. You pick the poems to post around the room or in groups or stations. Number them and leave the titles off as one of the questions has kids create their own title. Then, the kids walk around the room like an art gallery to peruse the poems. They read the poems/analyze them/evaluate them. This activity gets the students out of their seats and thinking. Feel free to play music during the moving times b

About the store

Experience

LIFE is my experience. Specifically, though, I have taught for fifteen years. I taught a year in middle school in the city, followed by a year of high school in the city. Then I taught high school for twelve more years, but out in the country. This past year, I went back to my teaching roots: teaching middle school in the city.

Teaching style

a little bit of everything

Awards & shining teacher moments

I graduated with honors from high school, college, and my post-graduate university. I'm not big on flying my own flag, so that's as detailed as I'll get there.

My own education history

I earned a BA from DePauw in 2000 with a major in English literature and a minor in education. I then went on to complete my MA at Ball State in 2005, focused on secondary education. In 2014, I finished my gifted license.

Additional biographical information

I enjoy sharing my passion for language with others. If I can make them like reading, writing, thinking, speaking, listening, and living just a little more, I'm happy. As for my items in my store, a lot of them are very general, very vague, very minimalist on purpose, so you can make them your own. Use them as a starting point, and then put your own spin on them. Enjoy.
