Your students will choose one immigrant group to study. They can choose their own family, interview relatives and gather artifacts, or choose any group of people that came to the U.S., if they prefer. The goal is to create a Ken Burns style documentary with images, their own script narrated by them, and background music they've chosen. This is great for online teaching. Students can make their documentary and share with each other. Lends itself to a great class sharing and discussion. My student

Use these slides to set the scene for the Vietnam Conflict. Start with Sun Tzu and The Art of War and his quote about knowing yourself as your enemies to emphasize the importance of knowing the area. Have students investigate the country and its surrounding areas as part of an inquiry introduction to the war, and to familiarize them with different types of maps. Includes a brief timeline of the events in the war. Great for students to keep as a reference during your Vietnam War unit.

I made this for a nonverbal student who isn't reading yet. I am working with this student remotely, so making new content daily. I want to help anyone else who might be able to use it and save some time. The main skill I am working on with this student is scanning, having him purposefully direct his gaze to an object on the screen, so he needs larger images and uncluttered slides. I've integrated colors and shapes, songs and chill music if your student(s) may tire easily and need breaks, too. Ad
