Fun Times in First is here to help save you time while keeping learning fun! In May 2018, I finished the 28th year of my teaching journey! I taught first grade for my last 13 years in the classroom and absolutely loved it. I am now taking some much needed time away from the classroom, to bring to y'all many of the fabulous resources I've had in practice in my classroom for the past few years. Fun Times in First is here to help save you time while keeping learning fun! In May 2018, I finished the 28th year of my teaching journey! Teaching style
I work hard to make learning fun for my students while I planning carefully to meet their varying needs. I did this through small group instruction and hands-on learning. My motto- Keep learning fun while making every moment count!
Awards & shining teacher moments
I was the 2009-2010 Teacher of the Year at Blandford Elementary School in Effingham County, Georgia.
My own education history
I earned my BA in Early Childhood Education in 1989. In 1999 I earned my MS in Curriculum and Instruction. I also earned my Gifted Education endorsement which allowed me to work with advanced first grade students.
Additional biographical information
I have three daughters; Lauren is 34, Amy is 29, and my stepdaughter Taylor is 25. I also have five grandchildren; Lily is 14, Christopher is 8, Athena is 6, Noah is 5, and Dominic is 2. Plus I have three bonus grandchildren- Tyler is 10, Oliver is 8, and Wyatt is 8. In my free time, my husband Craig and I love to cruise, go camping, and spend time with our family, especially all of the grands!
