This unit focuses not only the elements of a play but specifically on rhetorical appeals and devices. There are vocabulary quizzes, guided act questions, specific rhetorical break down of Brutus and Antony's speeches, a final assessment that includes a visual and written component, as well as background slide show notes on Caesar and rhetorical techniques.

Fahrenheit 451/Censorship Background Notes

This presentation is broken into two sections and is best done over two days. The first half is related to the time period in which the novel was written and provides a background into Ray Bradbury and various literary terms for students to focus on while reading. The second part, which is in red, focuses on the concept of censorship and provides a brief Youtube video regarding the First Amendment.
