About the store
Hi! I'm so glad you're here! I'm a special education teacher with over 22 years of teaching experience, including 19 years in special education and 3 years as a Reading Specialist. For the past several years, I've taught in a virtual Life Skills classroom, where I've developed engaging, practical resources that help students build the skills they need for greater independence. I created Functioning Virtually because I know how challenging it can be to find functional, age-respectful materials that truly meet the needs of students with disabilities. Every resource in my store is classroom-tested and designed with real students in mind. My resources focus on: -Functional life skills -Transition planning -Functional math -Functional reading -Independent living -Career exploration -Community-based instruction -Social and workplace skills -Adapted and differentiated learning Many products include multiple levels of support, interactive activities, visuals, and opportunities for real-world practice so every learner can experience success. Whether you teach in a virtual classroom, resource room, Life Skills program, or self-contained setting, my goal is to save you planning time while providing meaningful, engaging lessons your students will actually use in everyday life. Thank you for visiting my store and supporting my small teacher business. I hope these resources help make your teaching a little easier and your students a little more independent!
