After earning my Master of Arts in Teaching with a specialization in Adapted Curriculum, I launched my career as a self-contained Community-Based Instruction teacher. I serve high school students in grades 9–12, designing and delivering instruction that centers on functional academics, essential life skills, and hands-on vocational training. My lessons are individualized and practical — from reading and math skills applied to real-world tasks, to money management, cooking, community navigation, job readiness, and workplace routines. Currently, I teach in a transition program for learners ages 18–22, supporting their pathway to greater independence, meaningful employment, and community inclusion. I collaborate closely with families, job coaches, and community partners to create work-based learning opportunities, internships, and functional assessments that inform personalized transition plans. I’m passionate about creating respectful, student-centered environments where each learner’s strengths are celebrated and progress is measurable.
