Experience

My name is Gabriella Gardner, and I graduated with my bachelor's in History Education. I have taught various social studies courses, including Advanced Placement, Advanced, and On-Level classes, and have extensive experience working with a high number of English learners. In addition to teaching social studies, I also teach leadership and run a mentoring program designed to help freshmen achieve success throughout their high school years.

Teaching style

My teaching style is unconventional, as I believe that traditional lecturing and note-taking do not challenge students to think critically. I focus on providing hands-on experiences that foster an atmosphere of critical thinking and encourage the application of higher levels of Bloom's taxonomy.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Since I was little, I have always wanted to be a teacher. Teaching high school has been a blast, and I have loved participating in various activities around the school. In my first year of teaching, I received the staff spirit award for my dedication to school spirit and supporting students in their extracurricular activities. I also received a newcomer outstanding educator award as well as teacher member of the month, awarded by the students.
