This ppt teaches students to sketch reciprocal functions without using a graphing calculator. We begin with straight lines y=x and y=x+3, and continue to parabola y=x2-4. We look at the asymtotes, the invariant points, and then plotting a few points to get the shape. It is based on the British Columbia curriculum, Grade 11, Addison Wesley Chapter 3.6

Experience
I have taught math on and off for 30 years, in NZ, the Cook Islands, Papua New Guinea, China and Saudi Arabia.
My own education history
I went back to Uni in 2010 to start a Bachelor of IT, but 18 months later we were back overseas, and the BIT is on hold. It is the experience of programming that I am enjoying using to create my game.
