Editable Note Home 1st Week of School Kindergarten English Spanish
This is an editable Word document that you can send home to your student's parents within the 1st week of school. You can print 2 to a page and front/back if you'd like! This is a great way to build positive rapport with your parents at the start of the school year. It also sets specific expectations that you may want your parents to know at the beginning of the year.

Experience
I have taught Kindergarten for the past 3 years in a Title I school. The majority of my students are English Lanuage Learners, and 90% of my students begin Kindergarten with no English vocabulary and no Pre-K experience.
Teaching style
I speak Spanish and English and use my knowledge of Spanish and the Spanish culture in my classroom teaching practices. I believe in strong parent-teacher communication and building confidence in my students' language abilities. I use positive reinforcement in my classroom and encourage my students to grow as Leaders for their peers and families.
Awards & shining teacher moments
I have been given the opportunity to do a radio interview for a local Spanish radio station to represent my County in how to prepare students for Kindergarten. I also have the honor of leading my Kindergarten team of teachers as their Grade Chair for 2 years.
My own education history
Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education from Georgia State University and Masters Degree in Reading, Lanuage, and Literacy.
Additional biographical information
I love teaching ELLs! I love learning about different cultures and backgrounds! In my free time you'll find me relaxing with a good movie, traveling, or spending time with my Husband & family.
