Pairs of Angles Made Clear 3.0: Complementary, Supplementary, Vertical

Push student understanding of complementary and supplementary angles even further with this rigorous, algebra-intensive continuation.Lesson 3.0 builds directly on Lesson 2.0 by increasing the level of algebraic complexity and requiring deeper reasoning across multiple angle relationships. Students are no longer just setting up equations—they are navigating layered expressions, combining relationships, and solving problems that demand precision and persistence. Experience

After nearly three decades in the classroom, I continue to refine my approach based on what actually helps students learn and build confidence in mathematics. I believe Geometry should be clear, purposeful, and challenging in the right ways.

Teaching style

I design clear, structured, classroom-tested Geometry resources that support all learners while offering meaningful challenge for those ready to go deeper. My materials blend clarity, rigor, and modern formatting to help students build confidence and strengthen their mathematical reasoning. This is reflected in the material that I provide. Lessons are labeled 1.0 through 4.0, sometimes more. The first lesson is usually where you will find introductory notes, examples, definitions, etc. As the lessons progress, usually the material will increase in rigor.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Across my 29-year career, I’ve been fortunate to work with incredibly diverse groups of students and educators. I’ve received recognition for my classroom teaching, my work on curriculum teams, and my leadership across multiple districts. Some of my most meaningful “awards,” though, come from the students themselves — the ones who pushed through challenges, discovered confidence in mathematics, or found direction during my years as a guidance counselor. Those successes are what continue to drive my work.

My own education history

I hold degrees in Mathematics and Education, as well as graduate training that supported my six years as a school guidance counselor. I’ve taught in three different school districts over the course of nearly three decades, giving me a wide lens on student needs, instructional gaps, and the types of resources teachers truly rely on. My teaching career spans Geometry, Trigonometry, intervention support, and college-prep coursework, all of which influence how I design materials that are clear, rigorous, and classroom-ready.

Additional biographical information

Beyond the classroom, I’ve coached football and track for many years and continue to compete in CrossFit in my spare time. Those experiences shape how I approach teaching: with structure, discipline, positivity, and the belief that students can push themselves to exceed expectations. Whether I’m creating Geometry resources, guiding students as a former counselor, or coaching athletes, I aim to help people grow with clarity, confidence, and consistency.
