About the store
With over 4 years of teaching experience at both the middle and high school levels, I’ve had the privilege of working with diverse student populations in both suburban and inner-city school settings. Throughout my career, I’ve taught a range of core math courses including Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, and Precalculus, and have also spent meaningful time supporting students in a tier 2 intervention classroom, where I focused on building foundational skills and boosting student confidence. My resources are designed with real classroom experience in mind—clear, engaging, and aligned with the needs of students at varying ability levels. I believe in making math accessible and empowering for all learners, and I strive to create materials that are not only effective but also classroom-tested and teacher-friendly.

Experience

Teaching style

My teaching style is student-driven, with a strong emphasis on encouraging curiosity, critical thinking, and active participation. I strive to create a balance between traditional instruction—where students gain a solid grasp of essential skills—and interactive learning experiences that bring math to life through collaboration, hands-on activities, and real-world connections. Whether it’s through guided notes, visual anchor charts, or engaging practice activities, my goal is to meet students where they are and help them take ownership of their learning. I believe the best math classrooms are ones where students feel empowered, supported, and inspired to explore new concepts with confidence.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Some of my most meaningful moments as a teacher come from the relationships built with students and the impact that extends beyond the classroom. One of my favorite memories is of a student I had the privilege of teaching for all three years of his high school journey. He was the quarterback of the football team, and during his senior year, he gifted me a shirt honoring me as his most influential teacher. It was a simple gesture, but one that reminded me of the lasting connection we form when we truly invest in our students. Another moment that has stayed with me came after one of my students survived a devastating car accident. Despite the immense physical and emotional challenges he faced, he persevered to graduation. At the ceremony, he found me in the crowd, gave me a hug, and said I was one of the only teachers who believed in him. That moment affirmed the power of encouragement and the importance of showing up for students when they need it most. These experiences are at the heart of why I teach—and why I strive to create resources that support not just academic success, but student growth, resilience, and confidence.

My own education history

I earned both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Eastern Connecticut State University. My Bachelor's degree was in Mathematics with a concentration in teaching, which laid the foundation for my passion for education and commitment to student growth. I continued my studies at ECSU to complete my Master’s degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in Mathematics, further deepening my knowledge of instructional strategies and curriculum design. My academic background, combined with real classroom experience, has shaped the resources I create—thoughtful, practical, and rooted in effective teaching practices.

Additional biographical information

I grew up attending inner-city schools, which shaped my passion for education and my commitment to creating resources that are accessible, engaging, and supportive for all learners. That experience drives me to develop materials that not only teach content but also build confidence and a love of learning. Outside the classroom, I enjoy spending time in nature hiking, curling up with a good book, exploring new places through travel, and expressing creativity through crocheting. I’m also proud to serve as a drama advisor, where I help students shine beyond the classroom through school productions and performances. These experiences fuel my belief in the importance of connection, creativity, and community in education.
