The power point is an excellent way to introduce and teach the concept of two digit addition to students. It breaks it down to make it easy and allows the students to interact with the teacher and power point during the lesson. This power point actually shows the numbers regrouping and how to carry the number. If you need a lesson to teach this is a great one to use.
This is a great power point to introduce the students to context clues. In this lesson, I gave my students post it notes. I did not give them any words, they had to use the context clues to decide the word they thought would go in the space. They would write their word down on their post it note. In the end we would go over and see if anyone had the same answer as the ones that I put, but we also talked about how other words (synonyms).

You can find the book in the library or it is in the Journey's Edition. It teaches the concept in the beginning of the power point but then it incoporates the story in the end to apply the concept with the characters from the story. Cute lesson and makes for a great one when you need something to pull up quickly to teach the concept.
