About the store

Experience

I have 25 years experience in teaching; 5 years in private school and 1 semester college level for Developmental Math. The only grade I haven't taught is 3rd. I've taught self-contained classrooms and departmentalized and co-teaching. I've enjoyed all of them.

Teaching style

I am flexible, which is necessary for all good teachers, but focus on what must be taught in order for students to be ready for the next year and the state test. I keep current on the curriculum the state has and use data from my students to drive my instruction. I like to use games, foldables, flippables, interactive notebooks, hands-on activities, and projects to help my students internalize the material taught.

My own education history

Bachelors Degree from Lamar University - Elementary Ed (1-8) with specialization in math (1-8) Master's Degree from University of Texas Arlington - Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on teaching mathematics K-8
