About the store
Hi there! I have been a teacher for just over 17 years now, an instructional coach for 5, and an administrator for 4. I started out in Elementary Education working mostly with the primary grades. Then I graduated up to the older students when I got my masters in English Language Learners and started working as an EL teacher. I became certified as a GLAD trainer as a classroom teacher and then used my classroom experiences to guide my work as an instructional coach in GLAD and EL for 2 different districts K-12. I love GLAD and the strategies that it provides. My resources are geared towards aiding others in getting these strategies into the classroom as quickly as possible. There are also resources here related to attendance, behavior and more from my experiences as a school administrator and instructional coach!

Alphabet GLAD Literacy Awards

Use these literacy awards as you introduce the letters of the alphabet to promote and reinforce the Three Personal Standards in your classroom: Show Respect, Make Good Decisions, Solve Problems. A bonus is that your students get access to the content you taught in the classroom whenever they want it or need it, and can take the information home to share with families. These literacy awards offer practice with handwriting as well as initial sounds. They align with the kindergarten Wonders reading

Teaching style

In my teaching program, I was an elementary school major with a special education minor. The general education professors were heartily focused on cooperative learning and students constructing meaning. The special education professors preached direct instruction. I felt like these 2 philosophies were very at odds with each other until I was introduced to GLAD. This is where I found the marriage between cooperative learning, constructivism and direct instruction and I was hooked!
