Experience

Hi there!! My name is Tiara and I have been a 1st grade teacher for the past 8 years! I have a bachelors & masters degree in Elementary Education. My favorite grades to teach are k-2. I am LETRS Certified, and Orton Gillingham trained. I absolutely love creating fun activities, games, and worksheets for my students (especially for phonics and math) and can't wait to share them with you.

Teaching style

My teaching style is very hands on & multi-sensory. Any chances to get the students turning and talking and sharing their ideas/thoughts with a peer excite me. I also think it's important for them to learn from their peers and their thinking. I believe that partnering with parents to give them the best strategies to use at home to further help their child is how we attain success for our students.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I have been my teams grade level chair for the past 3 years. I am a Canva pro, and have dabbled in some web design. I am also very knowledgable in SEO and marketing online.

My own education history

Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education (Pre K-6th) Masters Degree in Elementary Education (K-6th) LETRS Trained
