About the store
Hi there! I'm Nicole, the creator of Global Learning Hub. I’m excited to share that I’ve recently stepped into a new role as the PYP Coordinator at an IB K–5 school! With over 13 years of experience as a classroom teacher and a K–12 IB librarian, I’ve had the joy of supporting students and educators across a wide range of grade levels, always with a deep commitment to the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP). Throughout my career, I’ve been passionate about fostering inquiry-based learning and developing curriculum that engages, empowers, and inspires. That passion led me to create Global Learning Hub: a space for educators to find high-quality, practical, and concept-driven IB-aligned resources. I was honored to be named Teacher of the Year in 2020 and have loved the opportunity to lead professional development for fellow PYP educators. Now, as a PYP Coordinator, I’m even more driven to support teachers in delivering meaningful, transdisciplinary learning experiences. Thank you for visiting my store! I'm so glad you're here!

Teaching style

My teaching style as an IB educator is student-centered, inquiry-based, and focused on fostering critical thinking, independence, and empathy. I strive to create engaging, hands-on learning experiences that allow students to explore content through real-world connections and personal reflections. By emphasizing the importance of the IB Learner Profile traits, I work to cultivate a classroom environment where open-mindedness, responsibility, and collaboration are valued. I design my lessons to integrate interdisciplinary learning, helping students see the connections between different subjects. I focus on project-based activities and real-world applications to ensure students engage deeply with the content. Additionally, I am committed to tailoring lessons to meet diverse learning needs, with an emphasis on social-emotional growth and empowerment. I believe in providing students with opportunities for inquiry, reflection, and goal-setting, enabling them to take ownership of their learning. I also encourage student voice and choice through collaborative group work and interactive projects. My goal is to cultivate a growth mindset, helping students recognize that they are active participants in their learning journey and are capable of achieving success.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I am honored to have received several prestigious recognitions for my work as an educator during the 2019-2020 school year. I was named the PYP Teacher of the Year at Imagine International Academy of North Texas, which highlighted my commitment to fostering inquiry-based learning and nurturing the development of young learners in a positive and engaging environment. This award was particularly meaningful because it reflected my dedication to the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework, focusing on developing students' critical thinking skills and global perspectives. In addition to the PYP Teacher of the Year award, I was humbled to be recognized as the Overall Teacher of the Year at Imagine International Academy of North Texas. This recognition acknowledged my ability to connect with students across all grade levels, my commitment to professional growth, and my contribution to fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment. It was a testament to the strong relationships I built with students, parents, and colleagues, and my passion for creating meaningful and impactful learning experiences. The recognition continued when I was named Regional Teacher of the Year for Imagine Schools in 2019-2020. This honor was especially gratifying as it reflected my broader influence and impact within the Imagine Schools network. The award celebrated my dedication to excellence in education, innovative teaching practices, and my ability to inspire students and fellow educators alike. These awards serve as a reminder of the importance of cultivating a love for learning and creating an environment where students feel empowered to explore, inquire, and succeed. I am deeply grateful for these recognitions, which inspire me to continue striving for excellence in every aspect of my teaching.

My own education history

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Minor in Speech, which laid the foundation for my understanding of human behavior, cognitive development, and effective communication. This background has been invaluable in my teaching career, as it allows me to approach education from a holistic perspective, considering not only academic learning but also social-emotional development and individual student needs. My studies in psychology have equipped me with insights into how students think, learn, and process information, enabling me to create a supportive and engaging classroom environment that fosters both intellectual and emotional growth. In addition to my undergraduate education, I earned a Master of Arts in Education (1-6), which further honed my skills in teaching and pedagogy. This advanced degree provided me with a deeper understanding of educational theory, instructional strategies, and curriculum development, with a focus on elementary education. It also emphasized the importance of creating inclusive, student-centered classrooms where diverse learning needs are addressed. The combination of my psychology background and my advanced studies in education has allowed me to develop a teaching style that integrates academic rigor with a strong emphasis on the well-being and personal development of my students.
