Experience

Social studies for curious minds and adventurous spirits! Our resources teach twenty-first century skills and inspire students to tackle the world's complex problems. Explore the world from your classroom with Globally Taught.

Teaching style

Our resources give students hands-on learning adventures around the globe. We believe learning should be engaging and active, which is why our resources incorporate a variety of discussions, games, activities, music, and movement. We like to engage curious learners in the process of discovering a new culture, idea, or way of thinking as if they were traveling. Build critical thinking, cultural awareness, geographic literacy, data literacy, respectful communication, debate, and more. Each unit includes resources to help you easily implement the lessons with minimal prep-time.

My own education history

I received a B.A. in Political Science with a minor in African History from St. Lawrence University and an M.Ed. in Language Education from Plymouth State University. I hold several certifications in teaching ESOL.

Additional biographical information

Annie has traveled to and taught in a number of countries in Africa, Europe, and North & South America. These experiences instilled the joy and importance of learning about the world beyond her community. She launched Globally Taught in 2018 and has since built a robust catalog of social studies resources that provide mind-broadening opportunities for kids in 10,000 classrooms in more than 35 countries. Annie is as passionate as ever about encouraging kids to explore new places and ideas through hands-on learning that focuses on world cultures, geography, economics, and history.
