About the store
Bachelor of Secondary Education in Humanities, teaching experience in Secondary Social Studies and English in Canadian High Schools for 12 years. I was head of the History Department at an inner city secondary school in London, England, where I learned the value of well-structured, investigative lesson plans. When I moved back to Calgary, I became immersed in arts education, building a thriving dance and technical theatre program. I feel strongly that the creative mindset is what graduates need in today's economy. As co-chair of a non-profit arts organization, I am passionate about providing free access to dance education for underserved youth in Calgary, Alberta. We connect young dancers to training opportunities, create pathways to post-secondary education through dance, and inspire them to become lifelong patrons, participants, and advocates for the arts.

Teaching style

With over 24 years of international teaching experience as a humanities teacher, I have developed a student-centred, source-based approach to my English and Social Studies Lessons. My dance lessons introduce students to various dance forms, honor their authentic history, investigate the socio-economic and political elements defining their evolution over time, and delve into the shape, time, relationship, and space. I want students to gain the 21st-century analytical, creative, and critical thinking skills to navigate an ever-changing world.
