Students will produce one episode of the Evolution Dating Game! Designed for a group of 5. You can assign a species or allow them to choose. One group member is the host, one member is the female contestant, and the remaining members are the aspiring male contestants.  Students can use the resources provided to research their species. Is there life in the universe? Students complete an online interactive about what makes a planet habitable, with accompanying questions to answer. Then they choose (or the teacher assigns) a "pro" group and a "con" group. Students complete the organizer with their own ideas and research. Then consult with their team and we start the debate! Also includes a grading rubric.

Students will watch 2 videos about mass and weight in space and answer a few questions. Then they will explore their weight on other planets with the Exploratorium simulator. Ideal for an online learning environment.

I designed this for my 8th-grade chemistry unit a few years ago. It is a project that has students explain how an element bonds using a template I made to look like a dating site. It's a fun project that lets kids be creative while synthesizing the concept of chemical bonds. Included are the student template and a completed example.

This was designed as a digital lab using the SEPUP online season simulator. It could also be printed and used as a handout.

This is a whole class activity with individual or small group work first. Students will research and create a model of one organelle. Then the class as a whole will build a cell with each of the organelles they have created.

To use this resource, you can print out a blank copy and laminate it to use with white board markers as an aid/learning tool.  You can also use the editable template to make your own Partial Sum Addition worksheets.  Copy slides to reuse templates.  You can also print them out and use the for anchor charts in your classroom!

Guided lab through different phases of matter using household materials.

Students will create a comic strip, "Twitter account," or a timeline based on the "The Wacky History of Cell Theory" video from TedEd.

I used this as an extra credit assignment. Students practice converting measurements, converting AUs to miles.
