About the store

Experience

I began teaching in 2005 and have had the pleasure to teach some of my favorite subjects, including: Economics, Sociology, World Geography, AP Human Geography, AP Psychology, and AP U.S. History.

Teaching style

Love kids well, invest in their lives to build solid relationships, and use that connection to get them excited about learning all the cool stuff that is out there!

My own education history

I graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in Secondary Social Studies Education with a minor in History. After several years in the classroom I decided to pursue my M.Ed. and completed my program in 2011 with an emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction. I was initially interested in education because as a camp counselor I loved hanging out with kids and also wanted to share my love of sports as a coach. I have since developed a passion for understanding how students learn best, creating plans of how to implement learning opportunities, and creating engaging and thought inspiring activities.

Additional biographical information

My amazing wife and I were married in 2007 and have two young daughters. We are avid travelers (recent favorites have been Colombia, Croatia, Scotland, Norway, and Iceland) and drag our kids with us on all our adventures exploring the mountains of Colorado, destination half and full marathons, and summer camping trips.
