5 different solid 3D shapes to find the surface area. Students will use the net shapes to find the surface area. They will fill in the formulas. Answer key is attached!
Use this fun and engaging activity with your students to build knowledge on multi-step equations including combining like terms and distributing. This activity is self-checking and can be used individually, or in pairs. Once the student has completed all twelve problems, they will be able to make a paper chain by connecting the correct answers with each other. If you want, have them tape it up in your classroom to add some fun decorations while showing off their work at the same time! **Print on
This template of "I have who has..." will help bring an activity to life in your class! There are 3 pages of cards you can fill out for a total of 36 cards. Laminate them for extra use! Although I use it for math, it can be used for just about any subject. I do it once a quarter and have my 6 classes compete against one another for the quickest time. They get two practice rounds, then I time the third. The class winners get snacks the following Friday.
Get your students up and moving with a SOHCAHTOA scavenger hunt! Problems include: using the SOHCAHTOA ratio to find the ratio of a triangle, finding the degree of sine, cosine, or tangent, solving for a missing side, and solving for a missing angle. Set up the problems around the room in random order (try not to have them in the original order!). Problems labeled "N, G, L, E, and S" have 2 hints on the bottom that you can cover with sticky notes. Give each student an answer sheet to show their
A fun way to engage your students in one-step problem solving for a variable by multiplying or dividing. Students will solve the 15 problems, cut them out, then paste them together on a pyramid sheet. The two problems side by side will answer the problem below it. It's a great way for students to use multiple skills! The package includes the 15 problems, two pyramid sheets (one for higher level, one for lower level), and an answer key.
A fun way to engage your students in solving for the nth variable in a sequence. Given the first 4 terms, students must find the pattern and 6th term. There are a total of 14 problems to solve. They will then cut out the "links" and glue them together by starting with the START link, working their way through the answers until they reach the end. It will end up creating a fun paper chain!
**Print on different colored paper to make it more fun!
A simple interest problem for middle schoolers. The first page are different "principal" and "rate" amounts that you can cut out. The next two pages are real-life problems: investing money into a bank, and borrowing a loan from the bank. Answer key is not included because it depends on what the student uses as their principal and interest rate.
