This activity introduces what a reflection on the coordinate plane means and how to find the coordinates of a point or points reflected over the x or y axis.
Students will match up cards that contain examples of the following properties: associative of addition and multiplication, commutative of addition and multiplication, identity property of addition and multiplication, inverse property of addition and multiplication, zero property and the distributive property to the correct property card.
Students will cut out a sheet of cards comprised of one step equations involving decimals and fractions. Students will then need to solve the equations on the cards so they can match it with the proper solution card. It can also be used as a worksheet.
Students will cut out a set of 15 Equation Cards which are comprised of one step equations involving fractions and decimals. They will also cut out a set of 15 solution cards which contain solutions for all of the equation cards. Students will need to solve equations to find the correct solution card match. This can also be used as a worksheet.
Students will solve a series of one step multiplication equations. Based on their solutions they will draw the next piece of their picture. If all solutions are correct, they will have a flower with 8 blue petals around a circle shaped orange center on a light green stem that has two leaves. There will be a sun in the picture with a bee buzzing near the flower.
Partners each work on their 10 division of fraction problems. The page headed with an "E" is the enriched version. The page headed with an "R" is the regular practice. After completing 10 separate problems, students find the 7 same quotients.
