About the store
I've been blessed to have taught for 16 years. As a classroom teacher of 3rd and 4th graders, I see the eagerness in their eyes to create! My theory is, if the teacher is organized it will reflect positive creativity within their class. Currently, I changed my role to the Instructional Technology Coach. It includes grades K-5th computer classes, along with supporting teachers in the classroom with technology curriculum. I love to create products to help teachers get organized as well as the students.

Summarizing for Students

Summary can be a difficult concept to teach. As a reading teacher, I used "Somebody, Wanted, But, So, Then" using our fingers on our hands to help recognize those components to create a summary. These documents can be used in small groups where they can work with their peers using a short story.

About the store

Experience

I've been blessed to have taught for 16 years. As a classroom teacher of 3rd and 4th graders, I see the eagerness in their eyes to create! My theory is, if the teacher is organized it will reflect positive creativity within their class. Currently, I changed my role to the Instructional Technology Coach. It includes grades K-5th computer classes, along with supporting teachers in the classroom with technology curriculum. I love to create products to help teachers get organized as well as the students.

Teaching style

My teaching style has always been to "organize yourself first and engagement and excitement will follow within the classroom." I've always tried to be clear with instructions-verbally and visually. It could be with hand motions or writing steps on a board to daily agendas. It's important to me for each student to understand the importance of being independent.

Additional biographical information

I'm a mom of 2 beautiful "adult" children. One is a biologist in Fort Worth and my youngest just graduated from Texas A&M University. She currently is working in Colorado as the Social Media Director of a company. My husband and I are going on 28 years and enjoying the "Empty Nest" stage in our lives! We love to travel...especially to beaches!
