About the store

Experience

I’m a 20 year veteran teacher at the same school I graduated from! I teach in a rural-suburban district that covers 33 square miles in south central Pennsylvania. During my tenure I have taught various levels of Chemistry, Anatomy & Physiology, Biology, Physical and General Science. Most of my experience is in A&P and Chemistry!

Teaching style

My teaching style has pivoted and changed over the years to a more hands on, student centered approach. I still provide lectures, podcasts, and videos but I strive for students to work together engaged in conversations about the topics we are covering. I like to have students review together, and complete activities, labs, and projects in pairs or small groups. I believe it’s important for students to have multiple ways to demonstrate their learning.

My own education history

I have a B.S. in Biology and Secondary Ed. Biology. I followed that up with a M.Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction. Since attaining that degree I have taken at least 20 additional courses in teaching practices, student psychology, and more.

Additional biographical information

I’m a single mom to a young little lady who lights up my life with her spunky personality, her independent nature, and her musical talents (that I don’t have). I’m a coffee and shopping type of girl who loves a great sale! The beach is my happy place, my place of pure relaxation, and I look forward to going every summer.
