About the store
I taught first grade for over 10 years, and I am currently a reading specialist at a K-2 public elementary school. I have a masters in reading, and helping children learn to read is my passion! While I was a first grade teacher, I was introduced to the science of how the brain learns to read, and my teaching has never been the same! I recognize the importance of using brain-based, research driven methods to help students become proficient, lifelong readers, and I am committed to helping teachers find ways to implement these methods in their own classrooms.

When students are faced with challenging words they do not know and cannot decode, it forces them to guess. This can be detrimental to the learning process!
