Hi, I’m Mrs. Lovell! As a dedicated reading specialist, I work with struggling readers in kindergarten through fifth grade, using direct and explicit phonics instruction to help them succeed. My approach is rooted in the Science of Reading, with training in LETRS and Orton-Gillingham, ensuring evidence-based practices are at the core of everything I do.
I’m working to create resources designed to make small group lessons both engaging and effective. My passion lies in building strong foundations in phonological and phonemic awareness to empower students and help them become confident, capable readers.

Teaching style
My teaching style is explicit and systematic, with a hands-on approach to teaching phonics. I explicitly teach targeted skills in small groups and implement the use of manipulatives throughout my instruction.
