Teaching style

My teaching is rooted in constructivist and project-based learning, with an emphasis on inquiry and student-centered engagement. I design lessons that are asset-based and culturally responsive, honoring the diverse experiences and perspectives students bring. Learning in my classroom is active, collaborative, and connected to real-world applications. Students are empowered to lead their own learning, think critically, and express themselves through authentic projects.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Becoming a National Board Certified Teacher was a proud milestone in my career. I’ve led professional learning sessions at state and national conferences, inspiring teachers to bring creativity and innovation into their classrooms. My most rewarding moments come from seeing students gain confidence and realize their own potential—whether that’s presenting a film project, solving a challenging math problem, or leading a collaborative design.

My own education history

I hold multiple teaching and administrative credentials in Mathematics, Fine Arts, Computer Science, Graphic Arts, Administration, and Career Technical Education. My academic background is just as diverse as my teaching portfolio, blending arts, mathematics, ELA, technology, and leadership.
