These are hands-on activities that you can put at an independent station during literacy centers. They are aligned with the phonics section of the new HMH Into Reading series for Second Grade. The students are able to do it by themselves which frees me up to work with other small groups. This is just a simple sort that can be used to reinforce a basic needs lesson, taken as a grade, or put in a center as a center activity.

The students are able to do this without my help which frees me to work with another small group at my back table.
