I have taught 1st grade for 5 fun and fast years! Prior to that, I was a middle school teacher and a part-time children's minister.

Switch it up! Just because it worked last year, does not mean it will work this year! Be ready to differentiate and adapt at the drop of a hat!

Biggest honors are parents asking "Will you please move up with us?" and my own children proudly telling people they meet that "My mom is a 1st grade teacher. And they have fun! I wish she was my teacher."

I graduated from Abilene Christian University as a Reading Specialist with a Bachelors in Elementary Education.

I frequently tell my parents "My job is better than yours." and boy do I mean it! However, I really love spending time with my family. My husband and I love attending volleyball, football, and basketball games as well as concerts that our 3 kiddos are involved in. Four of us are at the private school where I get to teach, and hubby is down the street at the university! Love love love being on the same campus as my high school-er and middle school-ers!
