Respect is the character trait of the month for September, so I created a writing prompt to go along with that.
What is respect? What does respect mean to you?
You will have to change your schools name by printing it out or putting a box over it in adobe/photoshop.

I found this to be super helpful for my 6th graders since I had a lot of classes and they were able to just turn in a packet instead of 4 different pieces of papers to me
I've created a powerpoint that has daily writing into the day journal prompts. It is dated and it is a variety of prompts with pictures. I made it for 3rd grade but it can be used 2nd-5th, even 6th if you want. It starts with things to include in a writing notebook the first week of school and allowing them time to decorate. Then the writing prompts begin. They are meant for short 10-15 minute writing notebook prompts. This is their time to write freely without being judged. It is also meant to
For my reading groups I have assigned a group leader. I have created a checklist for the leader to fill out by the end of the class to turn into to me so I can gage how the students were doing the group and maintain responsibility with the small groups that I am not sitting with. It is editable for you to customize to your class.
You can use this to input your kiddos IEP modifications all on one spreadsheet. It is all editable so you can change it to accommodate your students. I like this because I can see all the accommodations right there instead of having to look through their IEPs everytime! Really useful
This is a good project for the kids to work together on. They are to create their own business and figure out what to call it, where its located, how to market it, what to sell and then they need to create an advertisement as a group to present to the class.
I am using this in the beginning of the school year to get an idea of how the students work together in groups. You can add more to this, as I am making it editable.
Editable September Planning Schedule. I use this to write down everything I am going to be doing all week long. You can modify it per your school schedule.
I can create different months for you if you are interested with the titles.
This is a writing prompt to promote the character trait of the month: responsibility.
Directions: Answer the following writing prompt in complete sentences. Your response needs to be at least 5-7 sentences long.
Prompt: Being responsible means to be accountable for yourself and your actions. Describe a time when you acted responsibly. How did you feel afterward? What did you learn from it?
This is editable and there is a pumpkin border around the document
This document gives you a break down of the Expert 21 Course 1 (6th Grade) ELA reading and writing workshops. Has all the workshops titles and expert questions, writing project topics, projects and an overview. It is great to use if you have a back to school night, curriculum night, or parents in the beginning of the year.
It is editable so you can input your information.
ALTHOUGH the thumbnail picture is showing it as TWO pages, it is ALL ON THE SAME PAGE!
Editable writing prompt on honesty using the following questions:
What risks are involved in being honest? What risks are involved in being dishonest? How do you benefit from being an honest person?
This is a writing prompt for January's character trait of fairness. It is editable so you can change the month/trait. It asks questions about fairness and they have to write in complete sentences the answers.
Editable week 1 spelling list for 6th grade. You can edit this and change it into your own grades spelling list as well. Great template
Comes with an activities list for Monday-Thursday homework
