It's Halloween time! Pumpkins are in abundance. To celebrate this I created a journal for my fourth graders to add to each day to accompany pumpkins that were donated to my classroom. I created it in black and white for easy printing and for the opportunity to color (who doesn't like to color?). To find the height and circumference of the pumpkin, I recommend using a string and then measuring the string. I hope you enjoy it! I would love your feedback.
Students will work through each problem looking for patterns and clues to solve. I have used the POD (Problem of the Day) slide for more than one day, sometimes one can take a week. I approach the problems using CGI techniques where the students create their own pathways to the solutions. Enjoy!
