About the store
I am in my 5th year teaching Kindergarten in Georgetown, Texas. When I student taught, I focused primarily in Pre-K and Kinder. Somehow still, my very first teaching position was in a 5th grade Math & Science classroom! After one (very educational) semester, a Kinder position opened mid-year and I jumped on the opportunity! Loving every moment in room 303 - teaching Kindergarten is my dream job! I also worked in two NAEYC accredited Child Development centers throughout my college career. Though my semester of 5th grade teaching was a big jump in experience, I found that it has actually made me a better Kindergarten teacher. I know where children are expected to be academically and socially in 5-6 years and I can begin preparing them now!

Daily Student Calendar Folders

I used these couple with my daily Calendar Smartboard! After adding the date card to the calendar, students would add their one date into their folder. After we’d check the weather for the day, students would graph the weather in their graph. When we add the number for “How many days have we been at school?” students also add the number to their 100 chart. These pages were stored in a folder and I added the new month’s calendar and weather chart each month.

In & Out Addition Game

This game is great for integrating hands-on manipulatives with an addition recording sheet. Students can use any small group of objects (cubes, counting bears, anything!), shake them like dice, drop them on the mat, then record how they landed! For example, if a group of bears landed with 3 bears inside the circle and 5 outside, the student would record 3+5=8. Then repeat!

Additional biographical information

I am a native Texan. I grew up in Burnet and moved to Lubbock to study at Texas Tech University (Wreck ‘Em!). I now live in Round Rock with my husband, Edsel, our dog Hobo (we found him on the streets, hence the name), and our cat Wellington. Edsel and I have been married just over a year and have been very blessed with support from our Georgetown family!
