After learning the equation of a circle, students create a picture on graph paper using circles. Here's the rubric I used to guide them and grade them along with sample graph paper you could use and some actual student products as examples. I usually give students 1-2 class days to work on the project (48 minute class periods).
These note pages align with the Math Medic AP-Precalculus course, but would work great for anyone trying to prepare their students for the College Board AP-Precalculus exam. There are 8 different note pages with outlined topics that cover all the content needed to study for the AP-Precalculus exam. There are some graphics and pictures to give students visuals for the topics, too. I have used these for the last two years while teaching the course, and my students have been very successful on t
This outlined note page, aka toolkit, for students to summarize quadratic functions is intended for Algebra 1 but could also be useful in Algebra 2. It covers quadratic patterns, parts of a parabolic curve, and forms of a quadratic equation: standard, factored, and vertex form. The notes align with Illustrative Mathematics (IM Algebra) Unit 7. The answer key shows the intention of the blank spaces and what students can fill in. I allow my algebra students to use the note page on all assessments
This outlined note page, aka toolkit, for students to summarize exponential functions is intended for Algebra 1 but could also be useful in Algebra 2. The notes align with Illustrative Mathematics (IM Algebra) Unit 6. The answer key shows the intention of the blank spaces and what students can fill in. I allow my algebra students to use the note page on all assessments within the Unit. It gives them a "one-stop-shop" worksheet to reference the key ideas.
An algebra outlined note page, aka toolkit, for students to summarize introduction to functions. The notes align with Illustrative Mathematics (IM Algebra) Unit 5 which includes topics of: Function notation, describing graphs, linear functions, average rate of change, domain and range, piecewise, absolute value and inverse functions. The answer key shows the intention of the blank spaces and what students can fill in. I allow my algebra students to use the note page on all assessments within Uni
I have used this simple form for years in my Algebra and Geometry classes. My policy is that they earn 1/2 points back by completing proper corrections. This form is completely editable so you can change the "conditions" and directions at the top of the form. There are 3 questions for students to reflect on their preparation for the assessment and set a small goal on how to do better next time. The following pages give space for the students to re-do each problem they had incorrect response

An algebra outlined note page, aka toolkit, for students to summarize inequalities of one variable, two variables, and systems. The notes align with Illustrative Mathematics (IM Algebra) Unit 4. The answer key shows the intention of the blank spaces and what students can fill in. I allow my algebra students to use the note page on all assessments within Unit 4.
These posters display AP-Precalculus topics listed for the 3 units per the College Board. The three separate pages can be printed on legal-size paper or enlarged. I have them on a bulletin board in my room. This allows me to frequently reference the C.E.D. expectations, and it gives students a visual representation of what they're expected to know.
Precalculus or Calculus lesson game for Polar Coordinate practice! Play battleship with a classmate! Students have so much fun trying to sink each others' ships while getting needed practice with plotting polar coordinates and practicing with coterminal angles. This is one of my students favorite activities of the year! I use it in my AP- Precalculus class and spend one class period playing (48 minutes). The directions are right on the worksheet along with 2 "game boards". I usually project
This activity is a low-risk way for students to share a little "about me" information while finding commonalities amongst their classmates. Students get to know each other through this icebreaker activity. The end product also creates a cool class mural that you could leave up for as long as desired. It shows how the whole class is connected and gives students a sense of belonging in your classroom. This activity comes with a worksheet for students (directions included), a written lesson plan

Math Classroom bulletin board/ word wall or display! Works great in middle or high school math, algebra, geometry and beyond! Help students remember some of the "tricks" of algebra and math computations. Includes letters for bulletin board labels and hexagon-shaped posters. Ready to print, cut out, and post! Shown on a 4 ft x 4 ft bulletin board in my classroom. Appropriate for pre-algebra through calculus!
Use the 30 already-made activity prompts or the template to create your own. Slides have animation to engage students in this activity. It can be used as a brain break, icebreaker, 'getting to know you,' back-to-school, or activator activity. Otherwise, just grab one slide, add it into a regular lesson, and get some movement and engagement. I use these slides all year long to get students out of their seats. It allows me to create quick groups when I want them to discuss a problem or topic
This outlined note packet is intended forAP-Precalculus (or non-AP) to start off the year with some review topics and preview topics that will give your students time to prepare themselves for what the year will bring. It covers a wide variety of topics: exponent properties, solving linear equations and inequalities, slope (rate of change), equations of a line in all forms, linear regressions, solving systems of equations, factoring, solving quadratics, finding x and y-intercepts, and multiple r
A bulletin board that would apply to all levels of math students. Gives students motivation to participate. Everyone has a way to contribute to the team! Includes a fully editable Google Doc with words/ letters for the header, along with the pages for all of the roles. I just printed on white paper, but if you have a black or white background and printed in black ink on colored paper, it would look cool too!
