A simple sorting activity for Texas students who are newly introduced to the STAAR Math Reference Materials chart. Great way to help kids understand the organization of the units.

Beginning activity for teaching or assessing the multiple representations of decimals through tenths in a problem solving format. Problems are presented as parts of a whole and students are asked to draw a pictoral model, write the fraction form, write the standard form, and write the word form of the decimal.

Students will use knowledge of perpendicular lines, parallel lines, intersecting lines, acute angles, right angles, and obtuse angles to create a map of an imaginary town. Fun way to assess vocabulary knowledge!

Since Halloween is all about candy for the kids, I developed this fun in-class activity to enjoy CANDY! I pre-make paper bags with a variety of candy types. I also ensure that each bag has the same items....to help me with grading. :) TLW: - estimate the amount of candy in the bag before opening - sort the candy by type - create a bar graph of the types of candy - solve simple word problems using the bar graph - HAVE FUN!
