This activity is great for students to practice making and testing hypotheses in science. Use small gourds, pinecones, and apples in the fall to make student learning relevant to the season.

I use this gameboard to practice identifying shapes. I used dice with the shapes on them or spinners that I made out of cardstock and fasteners. You could also use a number die and have the students identify the shape that they land on.
I add these pages to a folder that also contains our calendar pages. Every day after we finish calendar, we draw a friend's name (it could be the classroom helper, star student, etc.) and fill in their name. We do one of the pages each month and they get more difficult as the months go on.

I use this gameboard to practice identifying 3D shapes. I used dice with the shapes on them or spinners that I made out of cardstock and fasteners. You could also use a number die and have the students identify the shape that they land on.
Hand these out at the beginning of the year with a small container of playdoh. I print on cardstock and tape the playdoh to the center of the circle. Multiple color options to choose from.
Use this recording sheet to track how your students are progressing with their letter name and sound recognition. It's a quick snapshot that can include your entire class. Add additional rows for more students :)
