About the store
In 20 years of teaching, my drive to teach has always been to help others learn and I have been pouring out my heart and soul into my work, as most successful teachers do! I began teaching in an integrated special education preschool and adored the age. When offered an elementary position in my hometown I decided to try out fourth grade and who knew? I loved this age too and have settled in here for the majority of my teaching experience! After several looping classes between grades 4-5, which were amazing experiences, I have become very cozy back in grade 4 in our "newly" configured K-4 elementary schools.

Experience

In 20 years of teaching, my drive to teach has always been to help others learn and I have been pouring out my heart and soul into my work, as most successful teachers do! I began teaching in an integrated special education preschool and adored the age. When offered an elementary position in my hometown I decided to try out fourth grade and who knew? I loved this age too and have settled in here for the majority of my teaching experience! After several looping classes between grades 4-5, which were amazing experiences, I have become very cozy back in grade 4 in our "newly" configured K-4 elementary schools.

Teaching style

I believe in the power of concrete objects within learning experiences at the right times and with the right guidance will lead to a more successful abstract learner and thinker. More and more districts seem to be turning efforts to new programs, curriculums and lesson plans. As these are created, adopted, tweaked and tossed, teachers are disheartened in the lack of logic in some of these decisions and the amount of additional work required of us during these times of transition. I am feeling the need to find more balance in this work and time with my family and hope that my resources will help others find more time and balance in life and share more of their lives with their loved ones, as I wish.
