Experience

My name is Lauren, and I have been an educator for over 15 years. I love bringing science to life, and making learning fun and meaningful. I am so happy to be able to use this platform to share activities that my students have loved over the years. Thank you for your business!

Teaching style

I am passionate about hands-on learning and making science engaging. My materials incorporated game-based learning, modeling, projects, and kinesthetic activities. My students and their parents have consistently commended me on developing my students love for science by making class so much fun.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Recent achievements include mentoring a team of two 6th grade students who won first place in an international STEM competition against nearly 300 other teams. Their achievement won them a $1000 prize and also a donation to the school. I also mentored 7th grade students in a regional bridge-building competition, and we earned 3rd place, competing among 50 or teams. My shining teacher moments are when students come to class excited about what we are learning, and when they share how much they enjoy science. That is my goal!

My own education history

I graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.S. in Anthropology-Zoology and a Teacher's Certification in Biology and Chemistry. I went on to complete a M.Ed. in Educational Technology from Indiana University.
