About the store
I have been teaching and coaching for over 20 years in grades K-5 in urban, suburban, rural, and international schools. I have also worked as a gifted and talented teacher for grades preK-12 and I now work with a class full of English language learners in an international school, so differentiation and extension are key components to lessons I design. I love all things literacy and I try to create more effective ways to promote deep thinking and lasting learning for the students and teachers I work with. Since I also do a lot of work training teachers, I have developed a passion for well-designed professional development. About my store name: I LOVE reading and I have always over-enthusiastically modeled this love of reading with my students in hopes they will love reading as well. Somewhere in my career I started using the send off "Happy reading!" after my mini lessons as students go off to read independently. They always giggle, which means they start their reading off with a smile on their face-- a great way to start any reading session!
