Students will listen to the song "Alguien soy yo" by Enrique Iglesias. As they listen, they will write in the missing lyrics. The lyrics are different forms of SER. It is a fun activity for the students and they are practicing listening, writing and reading in Spanish. Many of my students downloaded the song onto their IPODS after this activity.

Students will listen to "Tengo la camisa negra" by Juanes. As they listen, they will write in the missing lyrics in Spanish. The song has several forms of tener and examples of adjective order that you can focus on to teach. Students loved this song! They downloaded it to their IPODS.

This includes a teacher copy of worksheet with blank student copy. Attached is a powerpoint that corresponds with the worksheet. Everyone knows how difficult teaching Ser Y Estar can be, but this format makes it easy and understandable to students!

Students will listen to "De Colores" by Justo. As they listen, they will write in the missing lyrics in Spanish. This is a GREAT activity for students. They will be listening, writing and reading in Spanish.

Students will listen to Lido Pimienta "Humano". This song focuses on different forms of Ser and nationalities in Spanish. There is a word bank of the different nationalities to help the students use as they listen. This is a GREAT activitiy to practice Ser and using it with origen.

Students will listen to "Waka Waka" by Shakira. As they listen, they will fill-in in the missing lyrics. There is so much that can be done with this song. You can focus on -AR verbs, parts of the body, or discuss the cultural significance of the World Cup (AKA soccer) for Spanish-speaking countries.

Students will listen to "Ya lo ves" by Beyonce. This is a song that they will recognize in English. As they listen, they will write in the missing lyrics. This song focuses on Ver and querer. For more advanced levels of Spanish, you can focus on regular past tense verbs. You can also discuss how songs are not translated word for word from Spanish to English.

This is a comprehensive review of Chapter 2 from Buen Viaje. Also included is a PowerPoint to review the answers.

If you are using Buen Viaje, this is a project that you can use for Chapter 2. Included is an example PowerPoint to show to the students. In addition, there is an easy-to-use rubric. If you aren't using Buen Viaje, this can be used if you are learning how to tell time or using class vocabulary.

Students will listen to "Estoy aqui" by Shakira. As they listen, they will write in the missing lyrics. Students will be listening, reading and writing in Spanish. It is a GREAT activity for students to work on ESTAR. I have had wonderful success with this activity.

This vocabulary, clothing and colors, correlates with Buen Viaje Chapter 3 Spanish I vocabulary. There is a vocabulary page and a PowerPoint that matches it. It is very interactive, colorful and entertaining. It is a great way to introduce the vocabulary.

Students will listen to "Afortunadamente no eres tu" by Paty Cantu. As students listen, they will write in the missing lyrics. The lyrics are different forms of the verb "SER". This is a fun way for the students to practice listening, writing and interpreting all in Spanish. My students also loved the song and downloaded it onto their IPODS after class.

In small groups (2-3 students), they can take turns rolling dice to practice conjugating -AR verbs, creating sentences in Spanish and translating them into English to show mastery of the vocabulary. The students love this activity and they don't feel like it's another boring worksheet!

Students will listen to "Estoy enamorado" by Wisin y Yandel. As they listen, they will write in the missing lyrics. Students will be listening, reading, and writing in Spanish. In addition, you can have the students translate the song. This is a GREAT activity for students to practice with "estar". An added bonus is that they loved the song and downloaded it onto their Ipods.

Students will conjugate 20 sentences, using a variety of -AR, -ER and -IR verbs in the present tense. There is also a PowerPoint attached with the answers. This can be a very effective way for the students to check their own work. This is great review!

Students will listen to "Donde estan los ladrones" by Shakira. As they listen, they will write in the missing lyrics. Students will be listening, reading and writing in Spanish. After this activity, students downloading the song onto their IPODS. They loved this activity!

This contains the project for students to create 2 -AR verb sentences for each subject (yo, tu, ella ...) in Spanish. They will translate each sentence, as well. Attached is an easy to use rubric to make grading a breeze for the teacher. There is also an example PowerPoint that the teacher can use to model the project to the students.

Students will create a PowerPoint using clothing, colors and the verb LLEVAR in every subject. This is a very fun assignment for students because they can use creativity and use a variety of vocabulary.

Students can work in small groups (2-4 students). They will practice conjugating -ER and -IR verbs, creating sentences in Spanish and translating them into English. Students love this activity! (One dice is needed per group.)
