Teaching style

I like to break down the reading and writing processes into short, digestible steps for students so they can more clearly grasp concepts and skills. A typical progression of tasks in my lessons includes demonstrating the skill, presenting anchor texts, explaining rubrics, and providing supported & independent practice while constantly checking for understanding. I provide a safe space for making (and learning from) mistakes and shower my students with encouragement. And there is always time to celebrate every success, no matter how "small" the progress may seem.
