About the store
MOM: I have been a teacher for 10 years. I spent 2 years out of the classroom doing curriculum planning and other administrative work. I loved working with adults and I appreciated the creative work but I missed working with students. For most of these years I taught student's with mild to moderate disabilities but some of these years were spent in a typical developing classroom............................................................. KID: My experience is mostly life experience- which is a total of 9 years! I grew up watching my mom closely. I learned how to break up skills to help different learners to understand the skill using their strengths. I am academically gifted and it used to be hard for me to understand different type of learners. Now, not only do I understand, I celebrate the different learning styles and appreciate the diversity in humans. I have also observed my mom in action many times when I got to visit her classrooms.

Phonemic awareness- Beginning alef bet sounds. (Kriah/Ivrah practice)

This packet helps with alef bet phonemic awareness in addition to reinforcing Aleph Bet sounds. Students will color all the pictures on the page that begin with the given letter. The letter Tzadi(K) is a little different since I couldn't find enough pictures that begin with the "tz" sound. I also did not include the alef and ayin because I call them silent letters until they are paired with a Nekudah (Vowel). We hope you enjoy it!

This freebie includes matching worksheets for single syllable word with an end blend. I introduce this skill after my students master multi-syllable words without end blends. Enjoy it.

Experience

Teaching style

Mom: My teaching style starts with forming a strong emotional bond with the students. This bond is built on trust, love and directness (Truthfulness). I firmly believe that humans cannot learn under pressure, or fear. They also struggle to learn with low confidence. Since I want my students to perform at their absolute best I try my hardest to eliminate feelings of fear, pressure or self doubt. I teach rather intuitively and it has it's pros and cons. The hardest part of intuitive teaching is not quite being able to explain my methods very well. I often have teachers or student teachers observe me rather than question me on my methodologies. The good part is that I combine my favorite techniques from various programs and adjust to each student as needed. This eliminates any rigidity and best of all, I feel creative and driven at any given moment in the classroom.......................................................................................... KID: When I get the opportunity to teach, I like to ask them how they learn best. I want them to know that learning should be fun and shouldn't be hard or even worse- impossible. Like my mother, I also like to stay away from set techniques so I can adjust based on a student's needs.

Awards & shining teacher moments

MOM: Graduated with 4.0 GPA Teacher of the Year award. Excellence in Differentiation Award ...................................................... ................ KID: I am an A students.
