Teaching about Frida Kahlo or family vocabulary? Frida Kahlo's life had many twists and turns and her family life was full of strife. Teaching about Frida's family is a great way to teach family vocabulary such as media hermana, viud@, divoricad@, casad@, fallecid@ and so many more. It is also a great way for students to see themselves reflected in the curriculum by showing diverse family structures. I used this while teaching the novela "Frida Kahlo" by Kristy Placido, but great for all classe
A short graphic organizer or project for students of all ages and abilities. This guide, which is all in Spanish, runs them through important features of countries that the students can research. So many possible follow up activities such as a presentation in front of the class or switching with a partner and writing a short paragraph about the country that they researched. Would also look great all hung up on a bulletin board once the students have completed them.
If you are a teacher who likes to resolve issues kindly and gently with students, this is the pass for you! This has worked countless times for me in my own classroom when students just need a break from the environment. I give it to them when there is an argument, when they look upset, when they need a mask break- for whatever! I make sure it has NO negative connotation. It just means that you need a break. Since it has all the instructions they need, I just have to put it on their desk quietly
Help students write Valentine's day cards to their friends, teachers, family members, or crushes! This PDF is a reusable printable that gives students ideas of how to write a nice card to someone else. It has helpful phrases of how to begin your card, what to say in your card (friendly and more romantic!), and how best to end your card. Students will really enjoy this activity around Valentine's Day! Enjoy!
The first day of school is incredibly stressful. I have created a checklist for new teachers or stressed teachers who like to stay organized! The checklist includes generic things that need to be done before or during the first week of school but there are open spaces so that you can customize it to your own school.
