Math strategy anchor chart for 2 digit addition and subtraction

Anchor chart for students to "remind" them of conceptual strategies for adding and subtracting 2 digit numbers without using the standard regrouping algorithms. My district uses "Investigations" so we do not teach students to "carry and borrow" in the early grades. Students I tutor find these strategies useful and the anchor chart great for review.

Anchor chart for students to "remind" them of conceptual strategies for dividing numbers with or without remainders instead of using standard algorithms. My district uses "Investigations" so we do not teach students to formal algorithms, but rather focus composition and decomposition of numbers. Students I tutor find these strategies useful and the anchor chart great for review.

Teaching style

My classroom is often described as "controlled chaos". I love to have my students moving and working collaboratively. Most definitely HANDS ON! I also believe strongly in using visual cues and in using color to help with organization and to enhance memory.
