About the store
I have had the privilege of teaching 4th grade for the past 20 years, with comprehensive experience in math, English language arts, science, and social studies. Throughout my career, I have been committed to fostering a strong academic foundation while creating an engaging and supportive classroom environment. For the last 7 years, I’ve taught at an academy that emphasizes hands-on, student-centered learning and project-based instruction. This approach has allowed me to further deepen my practice by designing meaningful, real-world learning experiences that empower students to think critically, collaborate effectively, and take ownership of their learning. My teaching blends traditional academic excellence with innovative strategies to meet the needs of all learners.

This recording sheet is intended to be used with my Owl Pellet Foldable, also found in my store. These easy to use recording sheet and foldable are a great way to guide your students through the process of dissecting owl pellets. My class also used Owl Pellet Bone Chart to compare their findings. These charts can easily be found on in a google search. Owl Pellets can be purchased online from multiple vendors. Teaching style

As an educator with over 20 years of experience, my teaching style blends academic rigor with hands-on, engaging, and innovative learning experiences. I believe that students learn best when they are actively involved in the process—whether through collaborative activities, creative projects, real-world connections, or interactive digital tools. My classroom is rooted in high expectations and built on a foundation of curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving. I design lessons that are standards-aligned but never one-size-fits-all—every activity is crafted to spark excitement, encourage exploration, and support different learning styles. From small-group instruction to tech-integrated centers and inquiry-based challenges, I strive to create a dynamic learning environment where students feel empowered to take risks, ask questions, and grow both academically and personally.

My own education history

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art from Texas Christian University and earned my teaching certification in General Studies (Grades 4–8) from Tarleton State University. My background in the arts fuels my creativity and allows me to bring a unique, engaging approach to classroom instruction. I have taught 4th grade for the past 20 years, covering all core subjects—math, English language arts, science, and social studies. For the last 7 years, I’ve had the opportunity to teach at an academy focused on hands-on, student-centered learning and project-based instruction, which has deepened my passion for innovative teaching practices. In addition to my classroom role, I’ve proudly served as department head for over 8 years, supporting curriculum development, mentoring new teachers, and leading grade-level planning to ensure academic success across the board.

Additional biographical information

Being an educator is more than just a career—it’s truly my calling. I believe in putting God first in all that I do, and that faith guides me daily as both a teacher and a mom. I’ve been blessed with an amazing husband and two wonderful kiddos who inspire me to be my best every day. Also a dog mom to 4 spoiled pups! Outside of the classroom, I stay active in my church and community. I serve as a youth leader for 8th graders and a church camp counselor—roles that allow me to support and encourage young people in faith and life. Being a wife, mom, and a teacher is truly my passion, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to make a difference both at school and beyond.
