Get out the marshmallows! Are you ready for a great math lesson on doubles and doubles +1? This packet includes an interactive flip book! Students can use real marshmallows, cotton balls or draw pictures to fill in their 10 grids and represent equations. There is an adding and sorting activity and a class game, "Who has, I have." There are also independent pages for extra practice!

Students that struggle with addition and subtraction facts benefit from repeated practice. I have included fact family houses so that kids can associate the subtraction facts with addition facts. There are several pages of practice with a max sum of 12. I like to put these pages in plastic coverings and let the kids do them over and over with a dry erase marker.

Extra practice in adding doubles 1-9

Encourage your students to compare and contrast two items while organizing their thoughts into a Venn diagram. There is also room for students to explain their thoughts in writing.
