This lock box can be used either as a challenge activity before, during, or after learning the content.  It all depends on the learning outcomes desired - whether it be to see what students already know and can figure out on their own, to demonstrate understanding during a lesson, or review content. This activity is designed to be done with an actual locked box.  Five locks - to be placed on a lock hasp - to be exact. Alternative options are listed for those who may not have a lock box.

These graphic organizers for math problem solving are scaffolded for all levels of learners. As students become stronger problem solvers, less supports are necessary.
