This is a seat work style handout meant to have students practice writing sentences with modal verbs. This would be appropriate after a significant exposure to the targeted structure, and/or scaffolded using the "Hilfe" sections at the end. The "Hilfe" sections offer increasing levels of scaffolding in the form of explanations of the targeted grammar and example sentences. Suggested uses:This is a good activity for twenty minutes of quiet work. Students could work alone or in pairs.Hilfe sectio

This handout prompts students to interact with their classmates in German while practicing their adjective endings! Students are directed to ask fellow classmates if they have a particular possession or item of clothing. They must first formulate questions using word prompts. If they find a classmate who has the requisite item, that classmate answers "Ja!" and signs the student's sheet. Students circulate around the room asking other classmates until a time allotment or they complete the sheet.
This is a reading activity for intermediate to advanced low learners of German on the topic of the Berlin Airlift. It includes a page of comprehension and vocabulary activities. It can serve as a target text for a unit or lesson about cold war, an introductory text or even part of an assessment. It has been modified from an authentic text.

"One Sheeter" reading activity in German about the history of the Döner, Germany's most famous fast food item. This can be used as a target text for a unit about German food and culture, an introductory text for the many rich vocabulary terms found in the reading or as an assessment on student's knowledge and familiarity with the topic.
The first of my "one sheeter" reading activities. There is a text that should be fairly comprehensible to intermediate students with some support. This can be used as a "target reading" that you plan your instruction around, or as a practice or assessment piece while studying the topic of the reading. It is based on an authentic text and can be used as the basis for many other activities.
