Everyone is talking about High Quality Student Data. As a music teacher, I have been doing this all along! But collecting the data in a way that can be shared and analyzed by others was an issue for me. So I created a Google Form that can be used with AutoCrat to collect performance data about my ensembles, and populate a nice document that I can save in Drive or share with my team and administrators. Teach your students to practice effectively with this Google Form. Students often need assistance goal-setting prior to practicing and self-assessing after practicing. I created this form to use with my classes because the typical practice record can only do so much. Your students will upload a pre-practice and post-practice video to this form, then write short reflections at the beginning and end of the week. This is a very basic Google Form that will help your students record their practice. Using Google Forms allows me to collect student emails, organize submissions by class period, and pre-load the dates to limit confusion. I update the dates and theme monthly, and I post the same link with a new title in Google Classroom to help students stay organized. Help your students learn to identify difficult spots for personal practice. Students will label each spot using R.I.T.E (Rhythm, Intervals/Intonation, Tone, Expression) to guide practice. Space is left for the student to make notes about progress. This is a good way to teach practice and goal-setting skills.
