In this activity, students are given a bingo board with various graphs sketched. They are also given 22 statements such as f ' (a) = 0 and
f "(a) > 0. This means they are looking for a graph on the bingo board that has a zero slope and is concave up. They try to match the 25 graphs with 22 statements which means that there are 3 blank ones too.
This is a good activity to practice the concept of 1st derivative (increasing, decreasing, and 0 slope) as well as 2nd derivative (concave up, con
A jeopardy game of simple log problems, condensed and expanded logs, solve the logs, name the shift, reflection and inverse, and anything on logs. It is a jeopardy style review game and answer sheet is included as word doc
In this activity, have the students cut out the squares. Then they must rearrange the small squares into a 4x4 square where the linear equations are matched with a solution set.
Answer key is provided.
Blank template is provided
This game of bingo has 25 cards. Each student gets a card. There is also a sheet of questions with answers. You may want to cut these out in little strips and put in a hat to pick out the questions. Questions are:
1) given a quadratic equation find the vertex of the quadratic equation
2) given a definition find the word being described on your card
3) given the vertex, find the quadratic equation on your card
4) find the number on your card that corresponds to the problem asked.
Good way
Match an equation with its inverse. The restricted domains are not shown to make it harder!! Answer sheet included as well as a key. Good practice for making sure students can check if functions are inverses by solving for x.
Match the inequality or equation with its number line, its correct solution set notation, and its analytical solution. Teaches students how to correct use parentheses, brackets, braces, and Real number system in answers. Answer sheet for students and answer key included.
There are cards with variables with various fractional and negative exponents. Students match the problem with the simplified expression. Answer key included. Use after teaching fractional (power/root) and negative exponents. Good practice activity.
There are 20 cube root graphs and 20 cube root equations. Match the cube root equation with its cube root graph. Answer key included on 2nd page. Do not give students the 2nd page unless you want to give them the answers!!
